Marie Pearce
Nominated by Cherry MacAlister-Cottrill
A family who lost a baby son say support from community midwife Marie Pearce helped them cope with the trauma of his death.
Marie delivered seven of Cherry MacAlister-Cottrill's babies and when her son was stillborn Marie went above and beyond to look after her patient.
Her dedication to all the mums she helps has earned her a place in People's Pride.
Cherry said: "Marie Pearce is one in a million and means the world to me and my family.
"My last birth ended up in an emergency c-section and my son was stillborn, but Marie was by my side all the way.
"She followed my wishes and always showed dedication to her job.
"The following days she came into hospital to see my husband and I and after I returned home she worked above and beyond her duties.
"She even enabled me to go and see my little boy before his funeral and helped me make lots of memories.
"Marie is the reason that I have been able to begin to accept what happened.
"She is definitely deserving of some recognition for being a truly dedicated member of the community."
