Margaret Kingston has softened the blow of the Buncefield blast for hundreds of victims through her work with Dacorum Community Trust.
Distraught families have gone to Margaret for financial help, from loss of earnings to replacing treasured items damaged after the explosion.
She has co-ordinated 360,000 worth of grants via The Mayor's Recovery Fund, set up to help people needing financial support after the disaster.
Margaret has heard the worst horror stories from the Buncefield blast and worked hard to make sure more than 1,400 people have received these essential grants.
Nominating, Karen Kucper said: "I would like to nominate Margaret for all the hard work she has put in for the people, like myself and my family, who endured such terrible hardship due to Buncefield.
"Margaret has worked tirelessly, she has gone above and beyond her role and has helped so many people.
"This would be a fitting tribute to a remarkable lady."
