Man charged in connection with Warners End armed siege
A man has been charged with firearms offences after a terrifying armed siege in Warners End, Hemel Hempstead.
Police were called to a report of a man - alleged to have been carrying a handgun and a drill - behaving in a threatening manner at shops in Stoneycroft just before 4pm on Sunday.
Shane Hogan, 44, of Long Chaulden, Hemel Hempstead, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
He remains in police custody and will appear at Hatfield Remand Court on Tuesday.
Det Sgt Craig Flint said: “This was a very unusual incident and something which doesn’t happen in the local area. I’d like to thank members of the public for their assistance with the investigation.”
