Kings Langley parking tickets blitz by police
Crime
Police are cracking down on drivers who illegally park on the pavement in a busy village street.
They have given tickets to 16 cars in Watford Road, Kings Langley, in the past month, resulting in £30 parking fines for each of them.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Adele Hopkin said: “We know this is an issue for residents along Watford Road and we are working to ensure that the issue is tackled.
“Mothers with pushchairs and older people are finding it particularly difficult to navigate round the vehicles which are blocking access and it isn’t safe.
“We understand that parking restrictions are being looked at as an option to tackle the issue but in the meantime, my team will continue our activity to ensure the safety of local residents.
“The message to anyone parking in the area is clear – if you cause an obstruction by parking on the pavement you will receive a ticket.
“We hope local residents will see an improvement in the area as a result of this activity.”
