A florist and coffee shop is inviting people in for a cuppa to raise cash for a good cause.

Shirley Hall Florist in Hemel Hempstead’s Old Town is hosting the Fancy a Cuppa event in aid of the Hospice of St Francis.

It is a charity close to the heart of shop owner Alison Taylor because the hospice cared for her mother Sylvia Blanchard around 13 years ago. “They are a really good charity. We are just trying to get as much money as we can,” she said.

On Friday, September 7, all proceeds from coffee shop sales between 11.30am and 2.30pm will go to the hospice and a raffle will help bumper funds.

“We are going to put some more tables outside on the day because it is only a small area and we do take away as well.”

The florist in High Street has recently launched a gifts section and a new-look website at www.shirleyhall.co.uk
