Described by her proud daughter as 'an outstanding example to us all,' Joan Anderson has spent years giving up her time for others.
In a quarter of a century running 3rd Apsley End Brownies Joan has refused to ever let the girls down.
She has turned up to meetings on crutches and immediately after surgery and only ever cancelled two meetings, both due to bereavements.
As if her dedication to her Brownie Pack wasn't enough to make her worthy of People's Pride, Joan works as a voluntary accountant for her local elderly people's club and cricket club. Both of which she helped save from closure when they faced financial crisis.
She volunteers for the Hospice of St Francis and for her joint 60th birthday with husband Dave, Joan organised a ball in aid of Childline.
The couple shunned presents, asking instead for donations to the charity.
Joan's daughter, Laura Anderson-Smith, said: "I'm biased because she's my mum, but I know every one of my friends wants a mum like mine. Everyone is astounded at her determination and dedication to everything she does.
"I've yet to see her fail at anything and she also has time to be there for her family at any time of the day or night. Joan will bend over backwards to keep everyone around her happy."
