Determined men have shrugged off weeks of jokes about facial hair to do their bit for Movember.
Leading the way was Hemel Hempstead MP Mike Penning, whose tache was shaved off at the end of the fundraising drive for men’s cancers by Apsley barber Karen Beer. He expects to raise around £700.
There were plenty of other Dacorum men signed up to the challenge, which runs throughout November.
The team at Hemel Hempstead’s Sir Robert McAlpine had weekly group photo sessions to track their progress and so far they have raised £670.
Tring dad-of-three Mark Johnson shaved years off his look by ditching his hairy upper lip and he has raised more than £550.
Apsley-based grooming product manufacturers Kent Brushes sold 95,000 specially designed mo’ combs, raising a further £15,000 for Movember. Creative director Ben Cosby said: “It was another fantastic year for Kent Brushes and Movember.
“We made and sold more mo’ combs than ever before and helped spread the word regarding prostate Cancer UK.”
