IT’s loss is the church’s Gain
A NEW minister has been ordained at Chipperfield Baptist Church.
Rev Jason Gain was ordained during a special service on Saturday. The 41-year-old has been pastor at the church for the past three years since he began his training to become a minister.
He said: “It’s a very proud moment. It’s not something I ever envisaged I would do. I have been a Christian since I was 21. I don’t have a church background. I have done normal jobs.”
Mr Gain worked in IT for technology company Fujitsu before deciding on a lifestyle change and opting for a career in the church.
During his time in Chipperfield he has introduced ‘cafe style’ services and parent and toddler groups. He said: “The congregation is growing and we’re doing different types of services. I plan to carry on what we’ve been doing and add to it and try to serve people around us in ways we have not done in the past.”
