Hula hooping and movie making for village youngsters
Youngsters bored of the usual activities offered at school can enjoy alternatives like sports 'for the unsporty', babysitting courses and movie making.
School pupils in Kings Langley, Sarratt, Chipperfield, Bovingdon, Nash Mills and Bedmond are asked to share their ideas about what new activities they would like to see in their area.
Extended schools co-ordinator for the six villages, Rosemary Inskipp, wants every young person to find something they really enjoy.
She said: "Not every child excels in academics, but every child can excel at something.
"I want them to have opportunities to develop in their own way."
Already Rosemary has staged a string of successful events including hula hooping classes and a babysitting course for teens.
She now wants to help young people in Kings Langley form a Youth Council, to help secure funding for new activities and facilities to suit their needs.
