A team of footballers from Tring had a surprise visit from a hot air balloon during their training at the weekend.
The Champagne Flights craft had taken off from Hardwick, near Aylesbury, earlier that morning and came in to land on the football pitch in Miswell Lane.
Experienced pilot Stuart Seager safely landed the craft on open ground. When asked if the pitch was a usual landing spot, Stuart said: “There’s no ‘usual’ when it comes to balloons. You use the gas to go up and down, and the wind to go left and right. You can’t land something that size without knowing what you’re doing.
“We slowed right down before we reached the pitch. Then we got the thumbs up, so in we went!”
