Hemel Hempstead smash driver’s 999 plea: ‘I’ve rolled my car, please rescue me’

A man phoned 999 to say his car had rolled onto its side in a road smash and he could not get out.

Two police cars and a fire engine rushed to Felden Lane, Felden, just after 9am today, Friday.

Firefighters helped him out of his silver Mazda 2, which had gone off the road and onto its side.

Police spokesman Olivia Finucane said: “The guy in the car phoned us to say he was not injured but could not get out, because he was afraid of rolling the vehicle and making the damage worse.”
