Hemel Hempstead man faces charges for fuel thefts

A HEMEL Hempstead man has been charged for nine offences of driving off from petrol stations without paying for fuel.

Martin McDonagh, 26, of Three Cherry Trees Lane, is accused of driving at least two different cars - a black Volkswagen Polo and a blue Volkswagen - during the alleged offences.

He faces charges for taking fuel from Shell in Watford Road, St Albans, on June 2; at Total in Stoney Lane, Markyate, the day before; at Tesco in Shenley Road, Borehamwood, on May 31, at Sainsbury’s in Colney Fields, St Albans, on May 21; at Tesco in Jarman Park, Hemel Hempstead, and at Shell in Watford Road, on May 19; at Sainsbury’s in Colney Fields on April 29 and February 25; and at Sainsbury’s in London Road, Hemel Hempstead, on February 20.

Mr McDonagh is due to appear at Watford Magistrates Court on Monday.
