Hemel Hempstead cardboard blaze may have been deliberate

POLICE believe a fire that shattered the window of a first-floor flat may have been caused deliberately.

Firefighters rushed to the blaze in Waterhouse Street, Hemel Hempstead, after being called just after 5.30pm on Tuesday.

Cardboard had been stacked against a building behind Jessops and set on fire.

The heat damaged three panes of glass in the flat window and several men were seen running off.

If you can help police solve this crime, ring them on 101 quoting crime reference D1/12/5348, or phone Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
