Help map trenches

editorial image

History buffs are needed to help map some of the last indentifiable trenches used for training officers in the First World War.

From next month volunteers are needed to help map parts of Berkhamsted Common to find these last trenches as an act of remembrance before the 2014 centenary of the star of the war

The project has support and involvement from landowners, the Chilterns Conservation Board, the Chiltern Society, and others bodies. No specialist skills are needed, but people need to be fit enough to walk across rough ground on the common.

Anyone interested in helping should email norman.groves@ntlworld.com, or call 01442 385 070.
