Girl of two gets plugged

A girl of two was taken to hospital with part of a bath attached to her after her fingers got stuck in the plug hole.

The youngster was having a bath at home in St Paul's Road, Hemel Hempstead, when she put her fingers down the plug hole as the water was draining out.

Her frantic mum called the fire brigade and a crew from Hemel Hempstead took the bath apart so the bawling child could be taken to hospital.

At Hemel Hempstead Hospital she was sedated while firefighters used wirecutters to cut the plug from her fingers, which were swollen and had turned blue.

Fortunately she was unhurt.
