Get yourself a nesting box

Bird-lovers in Kings Langley have made efforts to entice more wildlife to the village.

More than a dozen nesting boxes have been fitted to trees around All Saints Church and the Memorial Gardens to encourage breeding.

Volunteers led by Kings Langley Parish Council chairman Gerry Angiolini and landscape gardener Ian Edgar, of DFM Gardens Ltd, fixed boxes to cater for a range of species including starlings, blue tits and sparrows.

They were put up on Thursday as part of National Nest Box Week, an annual event staged by British Trust for Ornithology to promote the use of nesting boxes.

l If you or your business would like to sponsor nest box sets to fit in the grounds of schools in Kings Langley, contact council clerk Paul Dunham on 01923 261828.
