The family of a terminally ill youngster are selling off signed sport memorabilia in their bid to raise cash for a trip abroad

Parents Christine and Eddie Hodgson want to make every moment with 11-year-old Jamie as special as possible.

The youngster from Tring, who suffers from congenital heart disease, has to take a cocktail of drugs every day to keep him alive and has suffered complete organ failure, cardiac arrests and a stroke during his short life.

Eddie said: “Jamie fights on and smiles against the odds. We are strong because Jamie keeps us going.”

Last year enough cash was raised to send Jamie, along with his two sisters Jodie, 14, and Michelle, 24, to Disney World in Florida. Now the family hope to take him somewhere else hot – possibly the Caribbean.

They are selling a signed England 2006 shirt, which includes David Beckham’s signature, along with the signatures of more than 20 other famous sporting faces. Also up for grabs is a signed Chelsea FA cup shirt, including Didier Drogba’s signature, a signed European Cup hat and a Great Ormond Street Hospital T-shirt that has been signed by Formula 1 star Jackie Stewart.
Eddie said: “I am letting them go for Jamie.”
