Driver trapped in lorry

A lorry driver from Hemel Hempstead has been taken to hospital after being freed from a two vehicle smash.

Police closed Leighton Buzzard Road between the magic roundabout and Combe Street while firefighters worked to rescue the man aged in his 30s.

The accident, which happened just before 2pm on Monday (August 3), involved a Fiat Multipla, which was being driven by a man aged in his 40s from Ireland, and a blue and white skip loader.

The lorry driver was taken to Watford General Hospital.
