Dive in for hospices
JOIN the big swim, that's the call from Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club.
This December, Hemel Hempstead swimming club is running a non-stop 24 hour relay for charity. We are raising money for two local hospices, St Francis and Ian Rennie at Home.
The clubsays:
We are challenging you to take part!
We are asking all able swimmers from the local area; sports clubs, schools, councillors, local 'celebrities' and media, businesses, even entire families to take part, as long as they feel comfortable swimming 1 length of the 25 metre pool at Hemel Hempstead.
We already have signed up ex England Cricket Captain Chris Cowdrey with more well known personalities to follow.
Hemel club and its families have formed 24 teams of 5 swimmers, with a team swimming every hour. We also want 24 teams of non-Hemel club swimmers to swim at the same time and make up our 10 man relay team per hour.
This large team spreads the amount of swimming between swimmers and allows weaker and younger swimmers to join in. It also means if 10 people are swimming, we can expect a good number of supporters for those 10 per hour.
Can you help us by putting together a team in this event?
For full details, please check out our website www.hhsc.org.uk.
If you would like to enter a team, please email non-stop-relay@hotmail.co.uk with the hour timeslot (hours slots between 3pm Saturday 15th December to 3pm Sunday 16th) you would like. I will try to ensure everyone gets as close to the times they want to swim as possible.
