Dancing open day for aspiring Billy Elliots

Young boys enjoyed a day of dance at a top performance school.

Tring Park School for the Performing Arts opened its doors to aspiring dancers.

The Day of Dance in May saw 40 youngsters aged seven to 15 take part in ballet and jazz classes.

Many of the visitors auditioned for the school's Paul Watson Bursary Award to win free training for one year. The fund was set up to honour the memory of Paul Watson, a much loved teacher at the school who died in 2005.

Scholarships were awarded to James Lovell, Oscar Ainscough, Alfie Smith, William Unwin, Reece Hudson, Thomas Bassett, Alfie Manser and Ashley Blakeman.

Another four pupils - Ben Bazeley, Jordan Smith, Callum Dyer and Isaac Cohen - were invited to another audition and awarded Music and Dance Scheme Scholarships to join the school full time in September.
