Family and friends of murdered Billy Dove headed to London at the weekend to continue their fight against knife crime.

Billy’s Wish – the charity set up in the 21-year-old’s memory to help prevent other young lives from being cut short by violence – and the Ben Kinsella Trust joined forces for a fun-filled day of zumba and line dancing.

The money raised will help pay for Hemel Hempstead schoolchildren to visit the Ben Kinsella Exhibition.

The display, organised by Ben’s family including his sister, former EastEnders actress Brooke, aims to educate young people on making positive life choices, the law and consequences of knife crime, how to deal with conflict and how to stay safe. It ultimately hopes to deter children from ever carrying a knife.

Ben, 16, was stabbed to death in London four years ago.

Billy’s dad Paul Dove said: “We felt really honoured to be invited to be part of this special day for Ben and our Billy, two amazing boys, who we all miss and love so much.

“The money raised today and at all other events by Billy’s Wish will go towards knife crime prevention, helping ensure our loved ones are kept safe.

“We would like to say a special thank you to the Kinsella family, Debbie and George, Ben’s parents, and Brooke, Jade and Georgia, his sisters.

“Also, a big thank you to Cathy Elson and her team of dance instructors, Barnett Coaches, everyone who attended, helped, took part and donated.

“You’re all incredible people and we are truly grateful.”
