Comrades to kiss double derby day goodbye
The Comrades will in all likelihood miss out on two derby games this weekend.
Having not kicked a ball in a month, Berkhamsted FC's first team are due to entertain fellow MSSML Premier Division rivals Tring Corinthians.
The reserves, meanwhile, will hope to travel to Vauxhall Road to take on Hemel Town's reserves in the Herts Intermediate Cup for the third time of asking.
But frozen pitches mean it is likely to be another 10 days at least before either side can get their respective campaigns back on track, much to the disappointment of first team boss Micky Vipond.
"We tried to train on the pitch on Saturday and it was as deep as anything I've seen" he said. "It was four or five inches in some places.
"It's becoming ridiculous."
The table-toppers have tried to keep as much normality as possible within the camp at Broadwater, with regular training and team bonding sessions.
New boy Lawrence Bunker, who was top scorer in the league with Pitstone and Ivinghoe last season, has settled in well and now is just waiting for his chance to shine.
"It's frustrating" said the 22 year old.
"I just want to get playing and get scoring again.
"I want to help make sure the club goes up. One of the reasons I joined was because of Mick – he's got a lot of ambition to do well and with the players we have got I think we can do well."
