Chisel used in failed burglary

editorial image

Help is needed to track down would-be burglars who attempted to chisel their way into a Hemel Hempstead home.

Offenders tried to break in to the home in Robbs Close, Gadebridge, between 4pm and 9.05pm on Wednesday by chiselling brickwork to get into an adjacent alleyway.

They have then climbed into the rear garden and tried to jemmy open a rear door.

It is thought that they may have been disturbed, and left the home before they could break-in.

A maroon, old-style Ford Mondeo was seen leaving the area at 9.05pm and police would like to speak to the driver.

Anyone with information is being asked to call police non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number D1/12/5901
