Disability charity ReachOut Plus is hoping to set the sail for its 2013 programmes with an unusual fundraising idea.
The team will don fancy dress on-board a dinghy at the Best Business Expo at Shendish Manor on Tuesday, and appeal for donations to keep the charity from sinking.
Supporters can join the crew to help raise money against a shopping list of vital items including ropes, hoists and disability ramps.
The individual who drums up the highest total of donations will win a day’s free hire on one of the charity’s canal boats.
Businesses who donate will also feature on the charity’s corporate sponsors page.
All funds go towards the Enable project, providing residential boat trips for young people with special needs and disabilities.
Sophie Spiegler of ReachOut Plus said: “This is a really fun fundraiser, where local businesses can support young people as Enable trips can help up to 100 a year.”
Float Our Boat runs from 10.30am until 2pm at the expo in Shendish Manor on Tuesday, February 12. For details or to get involved, call Sophie on 0845 216 0091.
