If they did clip a tree then the tree needs clipping so it is clipped no more....

Clipped a tree? why was the tree in the road? Whomever was driving needs a retest and a trip to specsavers if this was the case. Hope they recover quickly and take a bus in future.

peanutuk, I'm really not sure how you can "clip" a tree ?!!! And why would the police tell you anything about the estimated speed. Sounds like you might be making things up to try to sound important. Anyway, I too hope the driver gets better soon, but I'm sure the police will investigate any offences that may have been committed,.

Barfly, bad comment you made there, don't make comments like that unless you know the facts. I hope everyone was ok and there were no serious injuries.

Barfly - wrong on every account. Police estimated a speed of between 20 and 30mph; the car was going uphill and it clipped a tree; the driver was a pensioner; cars do not normally park on that part of Adeyfield Road - I know all this because I was there. Think before commenting.

They must have been driving at a hell of a speed to flip the car over down there. There are always cars parked on one side there so unless you're a maniac you have to go quite slowly. Probably texting while driving like so many seem to do these days.

me and my mum was walking down this road just after the accident had happened... although the police arrived very quickly and had to assess the situation they were very slow in closing the road from the town ...cars and buses were speeding up there and we took it upon ourselves to slow the carsvanslorrys and buses down and tell them that there had been a car accident and that they would not be able to get through....most cars turned around but some still went up there just to be turned back !! we just wanted to make sure emergency services could get through easily to help the woman out. a horrible situation for any one to be in.
