A woman, aged in her 80s, ploughed her car into a supermarket building.

Police and paramedics were called to Tesco in London Road, Tring, just after 2pm on Tuesday.

The blue Volkswagen Golf mounted the pavement, smashed through a brick pillar and crashed into the trolley area.

The elderly driver suffered minor injuries and was not taken to hospital. The car had to be recovered.

A Tesco spokesman refused to comment on the accident.
