Bin collections are suspended for a second day

Bin collections have again been cancelled.
Dacorum Borough Council’s refuse and recycling team carried out spot checks this morning (Tuesday) and discovered that their lorries got stuck on snow and ice.

A council spokesman said: “With below freezing temperatures and freezing fog, the side roads and pavements are icy and unsafe for our crews to manoeuvre 26 tonne vehicles, wheelie bins and boxes of recycling - especially glass.”

Due to the suspension the green wheelie bins will be collected in two weeks time (from February 4) and the recycling boxes will be picked up next week.
