Bin collection halted by ice

Icy conditions have put a stop to all rubbish and recycling collections today. (Tuesday, January 6)

Council chiefs have decided to halt the service for safety reasons but hope to resume on Wednesday.

Sarah Jones, spokeswoman for Dacorum Borough Council, said: "Due to the icy conditions it has been necessary to suspend all refuse collection and recycling collections today for safety reasons.

"We hope to resume services tomorrow.

"Residents are asked to leave out wheeled bins and recycling boxes as shown on their revised collection dates - as per the hangers that were distributed before Christmas - and we will collect them as soon as we can."
