Berkhamsted toaster blaze causes panic

Two fire engines rushed to a ‘house blaze’ that turned out to have been caused by a faulty toaster.

The toaster had caught fire but by the time the crews arrived at Curlow Close, Berkhamsted, just after 7.15am on Monday, the flames had been extinguished.

Firefighters had left the scene by 7.30am after unplugging the toaster.
