Berkhamsted-born music star aims to sing in space

The ex-wife of Andrew Lloyd-Webber intends to become the first musician to sing from space.

Sarah Brightman, 52, the first actress to play Christine Daaé in The Phantom of The Opera, was brought up in Berkhamsted. She said she has wanted to do this since she saw the first man on the moon on TV.

She said: “If I thought back then that this could be done in the future, I would not have believed it – but I am absolutely ready.”
