100 mile run for Legion
A ROYAL Marine is to join with nine friends, many of whom are serving or former members of the armed forces, to run 100 miles for charity.
James Allsopp of Glenview Road, Hemel Hempstead, and the ‘Hemel 100 Milers’ will run from the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to the cenotaph outside St John’s Church in Boxmoor in a bid to riase £20,000 for the Royal British Legion.
The group will run over four days from November 7 to 10 and have received backing from Mike Penning and the Legion.

James said: “Hemel Hempstead has a huge amount of serving and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces, many of which have served in Afghanistan.
“Some have been injured and two have even paid the ultimate sacrifice while on duty.
“The British Legion, especially our local centre, does a huge amount of work for these members and their families.”
