A homelessness charity is hoping that Hemel Hempstead’s part in the final leg of the Aviva Women’s Tour has inspired others to get into the saddle.

DENS has launched its own cycle challenge with participants able to chose between 100km and 60km routes over the challenging Chiltern Hills.

There’s plenty of time to get fit for the occasion as the fundraising Hemel Hillbuster is not until Sunday, April 24.

The event will start and finish at Gadebridge Park, which was a hive of activity on Sunday when top sportswomen cycled into the town.

There will also be a 10km off road ride for children.

The charity, which runs a purpose built hostel in Redbourn Road, wants to hear from businesses who would like to work with them on the event.
