Inmate charged with attempted murder after prisoner is rushed to hospital with head and neck injuries

A man had been charged with attempted murder after a fight broke out inside Bovingdon’s Mount Prison.

The victim - an inmate at the prison - was flown to hospital with head and neck injuries following the altercation last Thursday evening (April 30).

He has since been discharged from hospital.

Marlon Roban, 37, also an inmate at the Category C prison, has been charged with attempted murder and is due to appear before North East Herts Magistrates on May 27.

The Mount is a closed prison for men and is designed to hold 770 inmates.
