Thousands of years after the Ruthless Romans, Savage Saxons and Vicious Vikings stormed ashore on the coast of Britain and the Gruesome Greeks competed in the first ever Olympic Games, you can relive those horribly exciting times by taking your family to see brand new Horrible Histories stage shows arriving at Watford Colosseum tomorrow (Thursday).

Incredbile Invaders and Groovy Greeks, presented by Birmingham Stage Company, will be performed in morning, afternoon and evening shows until Saturday (January 16). The shows are designed to entertain and educate audiences from age five to 105, and it’s a great chance to ignite your imagination and learn more about our island’s early history.

In Incredbile Invaders, the Celts are crunched when the Ruthless Romans invade Britain. Can crazy Caratacus save the nation? Hide behind Hadrian’s Wall and witness the Savage Saxons smash their way in. Can King Alfred be stopped from burning his buns? Discover who’s at Sutton Hoo and survive the Vicious Vikings as they sail into the audience. It’s a 1,000 year journey with Incredible Invaders. Groovy Greeks takes the audience from savage Sparta to angry Athens to discover the truth about growing up in Greece. Take on the Trojans and pummel the Persians! Comepte in the first ever Olympic Games and appear in the very first play. Meet your match with the Minotaur and be zapped by Zeus!

Both productions have been adapted by Neal Foster from the hugely popular Horrible Histories books written by Terry Deary. Foster also directs the plays and said: “I had a hugely exciting time bringing Groovy Greeks to life in Horrible Histories style and loved shining the spotlight on Celtic, Roman, Saxon and Viking life in Incredible Invaders. Both shows feature special amazing 3D effects that provide a spectacular way for both children and adults to enter these extraordinary historical periods.”

Horrible Histories performance times at Watford Colosseum are as follows: Groovy Greeks at 1.30pm and Incredible Invaders at 7pm tomorrow (Thursday); Invaders at 10.30am and Greeks at 7pm on Friday (January 15); Greeks at 2.30pm and Invaders at 7pm on Saturday (January 16).

Tickets start from £13, there are discounts if both shows are booked, and also for families and schools. Box office 01923 571102
