Carlie Berwick, from Hemel Hempstead, and her trekking team have raised more than £2,245 for charity after undertaking a 27-mile hike in memory of her best friend, Chloe Harvey, who died suddenly this year.

On September 5, Carlie, aged 26, took part in TrekFest to raise money for the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London, where Chloe was treated after suffering a sudden bleed on her brain at the age of just 23.

Carlie was joined in team Harvey’s Hikers by her cousin, Rosie Wool, and Chloe’s aunts, Chris Harvey and Jayne Edge.

Sadly, a footsore Carlie had to pullout of the trek after 24 miles, but the others completed the whole trek.

Carlie said: “I was a bit disappointed I couldn’t manage the whole distance but we were all really proud of what we’d done.

“It’s been really good and the support we’ve had has been amazing.”
