Hemel man arrested following fatal road traffic collision

A Hemel man has been arrested following a fatal road traffic collision at the weekend.

The 45-year-old man, who has not been named, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further enquiries until July 23.

A maths teacher from Huntingdon died following the four-car collision, which occurred on the A34 near Weston-on-the-Green in Oxon on Sunday at around 3.30pm.

Di Allan was a former teacher at Sharnbrook Upper School and Sixth Form. Her former colleagues described as “a kind, generous and highly valued maths teacher”.

The A34 was closed northbound while Thames Valley Police Roads Policing officers investigated the circumstances of the collision.

Investigating officer Det Sgt Gavin Collier, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision or anyone who saw the vehicles travelling prior to the collision.

“If you have any information which could assist with the investigation, please contact Thames Valley Police.”
