Two a cappella choirs will be giving a fund-raising concert at All Saints’ Church, Kings Langley, on Friday, July 3.
Kings Langley Community Choir will be joined by the Leverstock Green-based Just A Capella for a harmonious Songs for a Summer’s Evening.
The proceeds of the concert will be shared between Kings Langley School Equipment Fund – raising money to equip the new school building with furniture and teaching equipment – and the mission activities of the church.
The two choirs between them have a wide repertoire – Kings Langley Community Choir embraces a wide range of musical styles, with performances including traditional songs as well as numbers from Steeleye Span, Billy Joel, Adele and ELO, while Just A Cappella sing pop, doo-wop, gospel, swing and jazz.
The concert starts at 7.45pm and tickets are £10 for adults, £3 for children and includes refreshments during the interval. Tickets are available from 01923 261607 and 266667 or on the door.
Kings Langley School is currently being rebuilt under what the government describes as the Priority School Building Programme.
The school is being rebuilt as part of the Hertfordshire, Luton and Reading batch which contains seven secondary schools and will be funded via private finance. It is called a ‘legacy’ build as there is no money for furnishing and equipping the new building. Everything will be transferred from the old school to the new building.
The school is raising funds in a variety of ways to try to completely furnish and equip the new school. All Saints and both choirs are delighted to be able to help with fundraising for this exciting and much needed development.
