It was only a couple of days ago that parents erected a sign outside of their children’s school to try and save it from closure.

But within hours, it was covered in a messy scrawl of black spray paint – and now, not long after it was given a thorough cleaning, the sign has been pinched.

It had been put underneath a more formal road sign pointing people in the direction of Tring’s Francis House Preparatory School.

The sign said: “SAVE Francis House Preparatory School. GOVERNORS: Selling School for HOUSING DEVELOPMENT!”

Parents of the pupils there were recently told that Francis House would close in December – not long after the news was leaked to this website

The parents launched the Savours of Francis House group to try and save the school – but its future now looks uncertain.
