Wigginton WI June 04
May is the time on the Institute's calendar to consider nationally selected Resolutions and, after discussion and voting, to brief our Representative to National Conference as to how to vote on our behalf.
The two Resolutions for discussion proved to be very thought provoking topics and after due consideration we were able to make our vote and instruct our Representative accordingly.
After refreshments the annual Inkwell competition, which was 'A piece of jewellery with an interesting history' was judged.
All six participants told the story of the jewellery they had submitted in the competition and it was agreed that all should share the prize and hold the Inkwell for two months each. On the following Friday evening we held our second Spring Village Walk.
The weather this year proved to be much kinder and there were times when there was only a very fine drizzle to dampen the clothes of the walkers but not their spirits.
They returned to the Village Hall, duly exercised and ready to tuck into the two-course supper provided by Institute Members.
The hall was a buzz of chatter from a very invigorated and friendly group of villagers and friends.
