Whipsnade welcomes new arrivals
A big baby boy rhino and a family of speedy penguins are among the Spring arrivals at Whipsnade zoo.
Gentoo penguins, normally found in the Antarctic, have been settling into their new home at the giant Dunstable animal park this month.
You can recognise them by the distinctive white stripes across their heads, orange beaks and very fast swimming skills.
A baby white rhino, born in March and already weighing in at 100kg, is also settling into his new home.
The youngster, who has not yet been named, is the 55th African white rhino born at the zoo since 1970.
Endangered Sloth bears are also new to Whipsnade and the very first bear family of their species to make home there.
The long-clawed animals recently moved from London zoo into a purpose built house and paddock at Whipsnade.
Another exciting new addition comes in the form of Cheetah Rock, a landscaped look-out for the speedy African cats.
Whipsnade Zoo is open daily from 10am.
