Taking a leap for charity

Two students from Hemel Hempstead will be throwing themselves 10,000ft out of an aeroplane in a bid to raise money for charity.

Emma Saunders and Ryan Bellman-Jeffreys, both aged 17, will be undertaking a sponsored sky dive to raise money for the Hospice of St Francis.

Emma, of Bargrove Road, Hemel Hempstead said: "The hospice is celebrating its 30th anniversary and we thought what better way is there to help them than throwing ourselves out of a plane!"

She added: "We are both so nervous, but its something we have always wanted to do."

The teens will take on the challenge on Saturday, July 11, at Hinton Skydiving Centre in Oxford.

The Hemel Hempstead School sixth formers hope to raise 1,000 and have so far achieved 150 of the target.

Miss Saunders said: "I'm terrified of heights, but its all in aid of a good cause."
