Nicked for drugs

Police swooped on eight homes and arrested 10 people in the climax of a six-month operation to combat drugs.

Officers recovered more than 8,000 during a two-day drug bust.

A 16-year-old boy was caught with two ounces of cocaine worth 2,000 when police swooped on a drug deal in Grovehill on Tuesday.

And the swoop squad raided Hemel Hempstead homes in Crawley Drive, Yeomans Ride, Park Crescent and Epping Green yesterday, Wednesday.

At least an ounce of cannabis worth about 200 was recovered from the Ninian Road house of a 23-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman.

The pair were arrested for intent to supply the drug.

Four other men were arrested for possession of Class B drugs.
