Mum's warning after candle blaze

A mum has warned about the dangers of candles after her home went up in flames.

Chloe Cameron and her three year old daughter have been moved into emergency housing after a candle set light to a kitchen curtain.

The 29-year-old nurse watched in horror as smoke poured out of the windows at her home in Caernarvon Court, Hemel Hempstead.

Her daughter Angelina had accidentally moved a curtain into the flame of a citronella candle as she reached for a biscuit on Thursday (June 25).

Mrs Cameron, who had just finished decorating, said: "One candle in seconds has basically disrupted my life for who knows how long."

She saw the flames and rushed into the backgarden with her tot and the family dog Milly to call the fire brigade just before 11am.

"I just stood in my back garden watching my house. There was smoke coming out of every window," she said.

"The kitchen is totally black, the hallway is black and the front room and upstairs are covered in smoke."

The mum of one is expecting to stay in emergency accommodation in Berkhamsted for around eight weeks.

Unfortunately pets are not allowed so Mrs Cameron is looking for someone to take care of her dog for two months.

If you can help please call her on 07733170800.
