Kings Langley Evening Womens Institute June 18

At our June meeting we started with the sad news of the death and funeral arrangements of our dear friend Trixie Doolan.

We welcomed two newcomers, discussed outings and reminded everyone of our 89th anniversary party next month.

On June 19 we have Fun in the Kitchen, at the Community Centre. Our branch will also provide a cake stall for the Kings Langley Carnival on June 21.

June 26 we will visit The Bushey Museum. On July 11 a local walk has been organised. An evening coach tour visiting Ashridge College followed by dinner at The Bridgewater Arms, has been arranged for August 12.

We heard how successful an Open Farm Day locally had been where we had made over 300 with our catering stall, towards the Herts Air Ambulance Fund.

Barbara Harvey gave us two splendid talks on Genealogy and ACWW. This is an amazing association of World Wide Women's groups from 70 countries, with recent entries from Eastern Europe. Monies raised start projects off to help women be self-reliant in their own countries and is most successful.

Ladies of all ages are welcome. Enquiries to Linda Brady on 01442 831763 or Rene Gardner on 01923 264754.
