Grot Spot Hotline

IT'S a new year and Hemeltoday is launching a campaign to help rid Hemel Hempstead and the rest of Dacorum of grot spots.

Jan 13. NEW Grot Spot

From: Anonymous

Hemel Hempstead

Grot Spot Details:Masons Road, Adeyfield. Since the new housing development being built at Wood Lane End, the adjoining top end of Masons Road is looking extremely scruffy and disgusting. This is due to the contractors parking their vans and cars on the once way grass verges. The grass is no longer and it is just a mass of solid mud!

Neighbours cannot at times get out of their driveways due to being blocked in by people parking there, or contractors use their driveways to reverse in and out of, thus leaving mud on their property, and is some instances throw rubbish onto the neighbouring properties. Residents are appealing to get this matter sorted particulary before the new estate is built, otherwise it is envisaged it will get worse.

(See photos in gallery)

Our campaign was started off by reader Mark Simpson from Apsley who emailed us these photos of the new car park in Durrants Hill.

He told us: "This is the new car park on Durrants Hill as you can see the rubbish left behind and now we have fly tipping as well."

So we want readers help to identify other grot spots and come up with ideas for clearing them.

We've got to hope too the campaign will help make those who drop the litter think twice.
