The August meeting was held at a different venue to celebrate their 25th Birthday with silver balloons and other decorations.
Members and guests sat down to a hot meal and enjoyed music and dancing. A special birthday cake was cut and the institute was toasted with wine or fruit juice.
Later in the evening a wall hanging was displayed showing several buildings around Boxmoor making a very colourful and historical piece of work, by six members: Eve Davis, Rosemarie Jeffries, Eileen Walker (who also put it all together), Janet Rogers, Hazel Young and Barbara Rogers.
A few words were said by Eve Davis and the current president Sandra Pettiford closed the meeting. (cake was made by Jill Langston.) The next meeting will be on the September 10 at 7.45pm at Hemel Hempstead Methodist Church Hall in Ashtree Way.
