Beauty pageant success for pair
A company director from Hemel Hempstead has claimed the title of Miss Hertfordshire.
Amy Green, of Masons Road in Adeyfield, was crowned with the tiara after a tense final at Hatfield Galleria on Sunday.
She beat off competition from 35 finalists and will now go on to the Miss England pageant later this year.
The 21-year-old, who took up modelling after winning a competition in a nightclub around 18 months ago, is also a director of the telecoms firm she set up with her father.
She said: "It's amazing. It was so nerve-wracking. It was one of the most scary things I have ever done."
It was a double celebration for Dacorum because Victoria Fawkus-Robinson, of High Street in Tring, won second place in the competition.
The 18-year-old is studying for her A-levels before planning to go to university to study events management.
She said: "It's incredible. I still can't believe it."
