A selection of the opportunities available this week through Volunteer Centre Dacorum.
RENNIE GROVE HOSPICE CARE
Are you flexible, adaptable and happy to work on your own initiative?
The Rennie Grove Children’s Support Team need a volunteer who can help organise a cupboard full of materials and equipment for them to use in their day to day work.
The right volunteer will be able to set up a system to record equipment use and will keep a check on supplies and reorder them as needed.
Key tasks will include keeping the toys clean and in good working order and ensuring that all equipment is accounted for.
You should be well organised and methodical and have good computer skills.
This home grown charity also needs help from an IT whizz who can set up spreadsheets, keeping in touch with customers and tackle range of general administrative tasks.
You should have strong skills in using Microsoft Office products and good attention to detail.
Both roles are based at Rennie House in Icknield Way, Tring and will require around two days initially and about two hours per fortnight after that.
Age UK Dacorum
Would you like to help at a new fun and stimulating club for older people with mild to moderate memory problems in Berkhamsted?
If you enjoy the company of older people, are friendly, fun loving, caring and kind and can spare some time on Thursdays, this could be the volunteering role for you.
No specialist skills are needed but if you can help club members to feel welcome and at ease, make the tea and assist with clearing up then Age UK Dacorum would love to hear from you.
The club runs on Thursdays in the Kings Road Church Hall from 9.45am until 3.15pm and volunteers can stay for either the whole session or part of the time. If you could also help with transporting members to and from the club that would be a real bonus.
