Family and friends of a 22-year-old who lost his battle with leukaemia just two months after being diagnosed are walking 11 miles to fund a bench in his memory.
Former Astley Cooper pupil Lee Wymer died on August 18, shortly after his first year at university. During his treatment he helped raise money for University College London Hospital’s leukaemia unit.
The remembrance walk starts at 12pm on Sunday from Hemel Hempstead’s Sportspace. Anyone is welcome to join. Lee’s sister Becky said: “Lee was funny, charming and had such an infectious laugh. He was a very kind, giving person. He is missed greatly and having somewhere we can sit for hours and think of him will help a lot.”
