A group of fashion-focussed sixth formers organised a style session with a difference to help promote recycling in their school.
Pupils at Hemel Hempstead’s John F Kennedy School were encouraged to bring in unwanted clothes to take part in a series of ‘swishing’ or clothes-swapping events – with organisers even creating their own tie-dye T-shirts especially for the occasion.
The bang on trend idea saw more than 100 garments donated, with all leftovers donated to charity.
Teacher Liz Hawley said: “The students were tremendously enthusiastic and well organised – a true credit to the school. They have created an innovative and fun way to learn about re-use and recycling.”
